Enneagram type 6 people are occupied with being on guard against everything that might go wrong. They often picture the worst case scenario of a situation. This is done by either phobicly holding themselves back, because of fear of what might happen – or by anti-phobicly taking the plunge doing everything they are normally afraid of doing. Type 6 can have a difficulties trusting other people, and have developed a unique skill to see through other people's motives. They are good at predicting the risks overlooked by the super optimists, and they are good at seeing things from the opposite point of view. They are incredibly loyal towards people who have won their confidence.

Enneagram type 6 are good analysts who deal with a situation or a question until it has been looked at from all sides. They have a special ability to read between the lines and that means that they quickly perceive any hidden agendas.

When Sixes are under pressure and feel threatened, they become more active and get to do a whole lot for which they get appreciation but at the same time, they are frustrated because they do not get to think things through properly.
