enneagram-type-1Enneagram type 1 is conscientious and focused on how things can be done correctly and preferably perfectly. Perfectionists often react promptly if something is not right. They have developed a powerful internal critic, who keeps their feelings and needs in place; to such a degree that they rather do what the internal critic tells them is correct instead of what they really feel like doing. Type One gets great satisfaction from doing a good piece of work. Focus is on details, order and structure.

Contributions:

Enneagram type 1 have a well developed love of order and their moral standards are high. They follow the rule "duty before pleasure" which means they put in a great work effort and do not give up until the job is done.

Preferences:

Enneagram type 1 prefer clearly defined parameters and plain guidelines in order to know what is required to do the job correctly. Clear procedures and an established agenda bring about security and help make the day's work easier.

Change in state of stress

When Enneagram type 1 are stressed and become insecure, you gain access to too many feelings and think about all the other times when it did not go well either. At the same time you are very much aware of how others feel about you.

Change when resourceful

When Enneagram type 1 are confident and feel resourceful and secure, you get a lot of ideas and you like to organize arrangements and dream of things, you would like to do some time.
